We had a large showing of public and private sector members join us for our 2018 WDCSITE Annual Conference and Business Meeting on November 13th at Residence Inn by Marriott (Ballston). It was an eventful morning and afternoon as we were able to hear on many different topics and celebrate the past year with award winners.

We started of the morning with a round table discussion on AASHTO, TRB, and NCUTCD. A big thank you to Kathy Falk (Kimley-Horn), Dilip Patel (MD SHA), Mark Bush (TRB), Nazia Ahsan (Arlington County), Ravindra Raut (WSP), and Bob Garbacz (City of Alexandria) for your insights on the organizations.

We then heard from several representatives from local DOT, counties, and cities, in a panel discussion on complete streets. This was a great time to ask questions and hear responses from our local experts on the topic.

After a short break, we watched a presentation from Debbie Bowden (Director of Economic Development, Caroline County) on the Impact of Transportation Projects on Rural Economic Development. Thanks to Debbie for a look into the challenges and opportunities that exist outside of the immediate DC metro.
